Cold wave condition across Odisha has made a comeback with as many as six places recording temperature in single digit and mercury gradually decreasing over the past few days.
As per regional weather office, the mercury is set to further fall by 2 degree Celsius in the next few days. The west, interior and coastal parts of the state would experience the cold wave.
The freezing conditions have hit life hard in Kandhamal district in particular as mercury has nosedived last night. Other places in the district – Daringbadi, Phulbani, G Udayagiri, Balliguda, Kotagarh and Tumudibandha blocks – were also severely hit as night temperatures remained in single digits.
The district headqauarters of Phulbani registered the lowest temperature of the season with a minimum temperature of 6.4 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, Daringbadi – the Kashmir of Odisha – recorded 7 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
