With an intense cold wave gripping most parts of Odisha, especially in the interior and southern districts, the Met office here has predicted that such conditions would prevail for the next 48 hours.
According to a Met office release this evening, Phulbani continued to remain the coldest place at 5.2 degree Celsius while temperature slumped to single digit in Angul (9.6), Baripada (9.5), Jharsuguda (8.2), Keonjhar (7.4), Sambalpur (9.5), Sundargarh (8.9), Hirakud (7.3), Bhawanipatna (7.2), Bolangir (8.5), Koraput (8.4), Daringbadi (7) and Dhenkanal (9.4).
Places where temperature remained between 10 and 13 degrees are Baleswar (11.2), Cuttack (12), Bhubaneswar (12.1), Talcher (11.2), Titlagarh (10) and Malkangiri (10.2).
The Met office also said there may be rain or thundershower at one or two places over interior Odisha on January 24.
