Odisha Chief minister Naveen Patnaik today launched the ambitious e- Vidyalaya programme at the state secretariat here.
Addressing students via video conferencing Chief minister Patnaik said the e-vidyalaya programme will go a long way in developing the knowledge of students while making teaching easy and pleasant.
The programme will be implemented in 4,000 high schools in the first phase, while 2,000 high schools will be included under the programme in the second phase.
Under the programme students in these schools will have access to ICT Lab, multimedia and internet lab in these schools.
Patnaik interacted with the students of Unit 9 High School here through video conferencing and talked about the usefulness of the program.
School and Mass Education minister Rabi Narayan Nanda, Chief Secretary JK Mohapatra and other senior officials were present during the launch of the programme.
