The Laxmisagar police on Wednesday arrested four persons in connection with a clash between two groups at Jharpada Canal Bandh over a disputed land at Meherpali in Jharpada.
Four people were critically injured in the group clash.
The Laxmisagar IIC Kishore Chandra Mund said, Siba Jena and Suresh Jena of Jharpada had a long-standing dispute over the ownership of a land at Meherpali in Jharpada area and had a heated argument late Tuesday night following which Suresh had assaulted Siba and his relatives.
To avenge the attack, Siba’s son Rajesh Kumar Jena (23) alias Kalia, Pabitra Kumar Jena (26) alias Pandia and Panchanan Jena (36) alias Panchu attacked Suresh with swords today at Jharpada Canal Bandh, said police.
While Pabitra, Kalia and Panchu were arrested on the basis of the complaint filed by Suresh, the latter was arrested on the basis of the FIR lodged by Siba Jena, the IIC said.
