They will be forwarded to court in the afternoon, sources said.

Bideshi was yesterday detained at MKCG Medical police outpost for questioning after he was discharged from the hospital.

“I tried to rescue as many persons as possible when the boat capsized. Later, I fainted and found myself at hospital when I gained consciousness. Though we have a fishing boat, it is often used to carry passengers,” said Bideshi.

Worth mentioning, a case has been filed against Bideshi and Dutia at Rambha police station under section 280 and 304 of IPC.

Notably, four persons had drowned to death when the boat carrying 29 passengers capsized in Chilika lake in Ganjam district on December 10.

The mishap took place when the boat carrying as many as 29 tourists was on its way to Ghantasila hill from Sabulia ghat through Chilika lake. However, the boat lost control and overturned midway after covering a distance of 2 km from shore.

The boat was overloaded which lead to the mishap. Besides, the boat had holes in it owing which water entered into it, Chief Executive of Chilika Development Authority (CDA), P Krishna Mohan had said.
