The CBI today conducted raids in eight places including in Odisha’s capital Bhubaneswar in connection with the business activities of the Adarsh Group of Companies, a company involved in the chit fund business.
The central agency, which is conducting raids at offices and residences of the directors of the Adarsh Group, also raided the Bhadrak residence of Kamalakanta Dhrupati, a director of the company. Dhrupati is behind bars after he was arrested by the CBI three days back.
The CBI has raided the Sahid Nagar and Nayapalli offices here and the Sambalpur office of the company. It is probing possible involvement of politicians in the company, sources said.
The raids were continuing when reports last came in.
