Bhubaneswar, Sep 25:
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today once again raked up his favourite ‘Central negligence’ theme and accused that the negligence of successive Central governments are obstructing the progress in the state.
Addressing party leaders at the Bhubaneswar headquarters in a preparatory meeting held before the October 2 Janasamparka Yatra, Patnaik said, “May it be the BJP led NDA or the Congress led UPA, neither of them care about the people of Odisha. Central negligence is obstructing the progress of Odisha. We will, however, continue our fight”.
The party will make Central negligence, Mahanadi and Polavaram its key agenda during the month-long Janasamparka Yatra campaign, according to the convener of the campaign Pratap Jena.
Party workers will also highlight the achievements of the State Government and will reach out to the people at grass-root level. The party will present the voters its report card based on the promises made in the 2014 election manifesto on the occasion.
In addition, BJD will celebrate the 80th year celebration of formation of Odisha during the campaign.
BJD President Naveen Patnaik recently asked the party’s local units to observe Gopabandhu Jayanti on October 9 and Loknayak Jayprakash Jayanti on October 11 as part of its people connect drive.
It may be mentioned here that even though Janasamparka Yatra is a regular feature in BJD’s calendar each year, the party has extended it to 30 days this year instead of the regular 10 days keeping an eye on the upcoming panchayat polls.
