CCI team reviews 53 large infra projects in Odisha

The Project Monitoring Group (PMG) of Cabinet Committee on Investment (CCI) reviewed around 53 projects relating to coal, railway, power, national high way and steel here on Friday.

The team led by Additional Secretary Anil Swarup appreciated the progress made in the implementation of the infrastructure projects in Odisha. “Progress in land acquisition has been phenomenal,” he said advising all the developers and concerned departments to update the progress against each project on the website of PMG so that the pending issues can be taken up expeditiously.

Chief Secretary Jugal Kishore Mohapatra called upon project implementing agencies to remove all small or big bottlenecks on the way of implementation of the projects through collaborative effort.

It is worth mentioning here that the Cabinet Committee on Investment (CCI) has been set up to fast track large investment projects, both central and State, facing delays in getting various clearances at different levels.

Among the large infrastructural and investment projects reviewed by the CCI teamtoday were Haridaspur-Paradeep Rail Link, Vedanta Aluminum Ltd-Expansion of Alumina Refinery, Aditya Aluminum Smelter of Hindalco Industries Ltd. Jharsuguda-Rengali doubling, Haridapur–Pradeep New Railway Line, Talcher-Bimilargah new railway line, Angul-Sukinda New Line Project, four laning of Sambalpur-Bargarh N.H.-6, Angul-Sambalpur Toll Road, Cuttack-Angul Toll Way Project, Biramitrapur-Barkot high way, Panikoili-Remuli NH, Coal to liquid project, IOCL’s Paradeep-Haladia-Durgapur LPG pipeline, Paradeep Refinery , IOCL Paradeep-Raipur-Ranchi pipeline, Jharsuguda-Barpali Railway line, Kanika siding, Jharsuguda-Basundhara Railway line, Jharsuguda-Barpali Railway line, Utkal Coal Ltd. KBK Nilachal Power Ltd, Daitary Iron Ore project of OMC, UCM coal Company Ltd., Chhendipada coal mining projects, Machhkata coal project, Jindal India Thermal Power, Lanco Babandha Power ltd, GMR Kamalanga Energy ltd., Visa Steel Ltd, Essar Steel India Ltd, JSPL, Angul, Monnet Ispat & Energy Ltd. Natraj Mine, Hingula OCP, MJSJ coal Gopalprasad, MNH Sakti, Talabira OCP, Kaniha OCP, Bharatpur OCP, Garjanbahal OCP, Orient coal project, Lajkura OCP, Samaleswari OCP , Belpahar OCP and Rampia Coal block.

Swarup assured that he will take up the clearance issues of various projects at central level and do the needful shortly.

The issues relating to forest clearances, taking possession over the land acquired, tree cutting DGPS survey, FRA and PTG certificates, overlapping coal block areas, utilization of low grade ore by domestic industries, were discussed and sorted out in the meeting.
The review revealed that matters relating to forest and environmental clearances, other statutory clearances and land acquisition have been accomplished within the timeline because of constant follow up at by State Govt.
