Singh entered the CBI office here at about 3 PM. He is currently discussing with investigating officers the progress of investigations in the chit fund scam cases, sources in the CBI said.

As the investigation into the chit fund scam in the state appears to have slowed down considerably in the recent past, sources in the CBI said the meeting would discuss revving it up again to restore the credibility of the probe.

On June 11, CBI joint director Rajiv Singh and DIG, SIT of CBI S Bagchi had visited at the CBI office here and had held a four-hour long discussion with the investigation officers of the Central investigating agency related to the chit fund scam cases.

They had discussed on the status of the investigation into various cases and the next course of action on these.

The Central Investigating officers had later met the Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjiv Marik and had discussed issues of providing logistics, manpower, documents from the state investigating agency (crime branch) and administrative support with him.
