The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today arrested a Branch Manager of Bank of Baroda’s Dhamra Port branch in Bhadrak district of Odisha.
A CBI team caught the bank manager, Divya Prakash Jena, red handed while he was taking bribe from a customer to release a home loan.
CBI sources said the customer had applied to the bank for a home loan of Rs 12 lakh, which was subsequently sanctioned by the bank a few days ago. The customer was worried about release of the loan pending in the bank.
Later Jena had suggested the customer to pay Rs 15,000 to get the loan. The customer had informed the CBI about the intention of the bank manager. Finally the CBI arrested Jena for taking bribe from the customer.
