Reported by Santosh Jagdev

Bhubaneswar, Dec 27:

Unidentified miscreants on Friday broke the window glass of a parked car and stole a bag containing Rs 35,000 and a laptop.

A local IT professional Bikram Mohanty lodged a complaint with the Saheed Nagar police this evening about the loot.

Mohanty and his associate Saroj Mishra had parked their car outside a restaurant near a police outpost after withdrawing Rs 6.8 lakh from the HDFC Bank at Sriya Square.  When they came out of the restaurant after 10 minutes, they found the one of the window glasses of their car broken and the valuables missing, police sources said.

“We had kept the cash in two bags. Rs 6.45 lakh was kept in one bag and the rest in another bag along with the laptop and other valuables. We found the window glass broken and one of the bags missing after returning from the restaurant,” Mohanty said.

“We suspect that some one had followed us from the bank till we got down near the restaurant and executed the crime,” he added.

Acting on the complaint, police have started investigation into the case.
