High Commissioner of Canada to India Stewart Beck visited KIIT University and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) here today.
Underscoring the need for student-teacher exchange programme between India and Canada, Beck, in his address, urged for collaboration with KIIT and KISS.
“Canada’s priorities in India include infrastructure, energy, food, education, science and technology. India is an important source country for immigration to Canada, Beck said while deliberating on the topic “Indo-Canadian Relationship”.
Stating that Canada and India have long-standing bilateral relations built upon shared traditions of democracy, pluralism and strong interpersonal connections with an Indian diaspora of more than one million in Canada, he said the Canada-India Environmental Collaboration seeks to increase technology and knowledge exchange programmes on environmental issues.
Among others, Dr Achyut Samant, founder, KIIT & KISS and Prof PP Mathur, VC, KIIT also addressed the students.
