A day after Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) reduced the diesel price, bus fares in Odisha were today reduced under the automatic bus fare mechanism system.
With global crude oil in free fall, Indian Oil Corp yesterday cut the prices of petrol by Rs.2 a litre and of diesel by 50 paise.
As per the notification issued by the state Commerce and Transport department, bus fares of the Ordinary and Express class buses have been slashed by 1 paise while the fare of AC and AC Deluxe buses have been slashed by 2 paise.
The fare for Ordinary buses has been reduced from 56 paise to 55 paisa per km, Express buses from 59 paise to 58 paise, Deluxe buses from 76 paise to 74 paise and AC delux buses from 97 paisa to 95 paise per km.
Notably, this is the fourth time bus fares in the state have been revised after the automatic mechanism was adopted by the government in June this year.
