Capital police sources said some unknown miscreants looted 9 shops, including two mobile service centers, five drug stores, one book stall and an office of a blue-chip company, all of them located inside the mall.

Santosh Bisoyi, the owner of the mobile service center said, “The miscreants took around Rs 30000 in cash from the shops.” He added that exact value of the looted goods was yet to be estimated.

Shop owners said the burglars entered the complex by breaking the locks of the metal shutter door of the main entrance of the shopping mall. One by one, they broke into all the shops by using same technique. Out of nine shops, seven were situated in the basement while the remaining two were at the ground floor of the building.

Meanwhile, the Capital police are examining footage from the Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras installed at the mobile service center that has reportedly captured the loot executed by the unknown burglars.

Police sources said, the faces of the culprits are covered in the footage and thus it would be tough to identify them. Besides, the burglars took all the locks they broke and set them afire in a plastic bucket, probably to eliminate finger prints. However, police have started their initial investigation.
