Police said the deceased, identified as Suryanarayan Mishra (62), a retired person and a resident of LB 179 in Baragada Brit Colony, died on the spot while his wife Nilima Mishra, a Reader in Indira Gandhi Women’s College at Cuttack, was severely injured in the queer mishap.
She was rushed to the Capital Hospital for treatment, police said.
“At around 3 pm today, while the husband and wife were coming on a Scooty, two bulls fighting on the road suddenly came in front of them. The husband lost balance of the vehicle and fell on the road divider and was mauled by the rampaging bulls,” said Susant Kumar Mohanty, a resident of the area and an eyewitness.
Irate residents blocked the road and damaged the ambulance alleging delay in its arrival.
