Koraput, Jun 28:
Border Security Force (BSF) personnel during combing operations today recovered explosives from under a culvert near Kadam village under Lamtaput panchayat in Odisha’s Koraput.
This is the second incident of recovery of explosives by BSF men in the last two days in the district.
During routine combing operations in Maoist-infested Koraput district BSF jawans today recovered two landmines and 22 electric detonators and a country-made rifle from under a culvert on the Jeypore-Lamtaput road, reports said.
While no one has been arrested in this connection, security personnel suspect that the explosives were hidden by the Red rebels for use against security personnel deployed in the area at a later date, reports added.
Notably, jawans of the 143 Battalion of the BSF during combing operations on Monday had recovered two tiffin bombs, 22 electric detonators, 25 gelatin sticks, a 12-volt battery and 45 metres of flexible wire from under a culvert on the Tanginiguda-Dasmantpur road near Baipariguda in the district.
