The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, which was scheduled to conduct the Odia Bhasha (language) examinations on May 17, has postponed it to May 22.
Briefing the media, Controller of Examinations, BSE, Dr Nihar Ranjan Mohanty said the Board has taken the decision to postpone the examination scheduled on May 17 as it falls on Sabitri Amavasya. Besides, an all-India competitive examination is also scheduled on the same day, he added.
He said a total of 1916 candidates have applied for the examinations which will be held at 12 centres in the state.
“The examination is exclusively for non-Odia candidates, who will be eligible to apply for recruitment tests conducted by the state government after clearing the examination,” Mohanty said.
He, however, informed that there would be no change in the date for the examination for Certificate Course in Physical Education (CPEd) which would be held on May 25.
