Cuttack, Dec 19:
In a significant change in the way preparations are made for evaluation of High School Certificate (HSC) papers, Odisha’s Board of Secondary Education (BSE) today revealed a new method that involves creating an online database of secondary school teachers from all over the state.
The online registration for the database is scheduled to begin on December 21 and will continue till December 30. About 60, 000 secondary school teachers from nearly 9, 000 high schools are likely to be registered online during this period.
“The current teacher database with us is about 25 year old. We do not have any specific information about the skills of the teachers and the subjects they teach as this database is not updated annually. It becomes very challenging for us to select examiners given the lack of information. This is the reason we have decided to create an online databse,” said BSE President Dakshya Prasad Nanda addressing newsmen at the BSE headquarters in Cuttack today.
BSE has asked the principals of these schools to submit their records of the registered teachers in their respective zonal offices by January 4. Online registration will be carried out at www.bseodisha.indiaresults.com/rtet. A hard copy of the registered teachers with their signature will be sent to the office of the respective District Education Officers (DEOs) following the registration.
