Berhampur: Unidentified miscreants hurled bombs at a person killing him on the spot at Badagumula village under Gopalpur police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district last evening.

The deceased, identified as Sushanta Sahu (37), was watching a cricket match on his mobile phone around 8.30 pm when several bike-borne youths wearing masks threw two bombs at him.

While one bomb hit his body and exploded, another went off near him. He sustained critical injuries in the attack and died on the spot.

Police forces have been deployed in the village to avoid any untoward incident as palpable tension was prevailing in the locality, till last reports came in. Investigation into the matter is underway and preliminary probe revealed that the bombing was a fallout of past enmity, a police official said.
