Rourkela, May 2:
Five live bombs were spotted on the railway tracks between Topadihi and Karampada railway stations on the Odisha-Jharkhand border today.
Movement of trains has been stopped in the section while Jharkhand police and bomb disposal squad have rushed to the spot and investigating the matter following spotting of the bombs, reports said.
Reportedly, the bombs were first spotted by a driver of a goods train, who alerted his higher authorities in the railways.
Since Maoists have called for a two-day Odisha, Jharkhand, Bengal and Bihar shutdown beginning today, it’s suspected that placing of bombs on the railway tracks could be their handiwork, the reports added.
While plying of buses from Rourkela to Jharkhand has been halted high alert has been issued in the area in view of the bandh call by the Red rebels.
