According to reports, a boat carrying 12 passengers capsized after the boatman lost control due to strong wind accompanied by rain.
The incident took place between 1.30 pm and 2 pm.
While some of the passengers, who were on their way to Mundei Ghat from Badabazar Sadak Ghat, managed to swim ashore, others swam to a small isle inside the river.
