BJP national president Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Odisha on January 20 to attend a religious function in Puri.
According to reports, Shah is slated to attend the installation ceremony of a new idol of Goddess Bimala on the premises of Govardhan Peeth – the seat of Shankaracharya Jagadguru Swami Nischalananda Saraswati.
Sources said that Shah is also likely to meet Sankaracharya.
Other dignitaries including former Nepal king Gyanendra Shah would participate in the three-day-long installation ceremony of the new idol to be held from January 18-20.
Besides, former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda will also grace the occasion on January 19, mutt sources said.
