Bhubaneswar, April 5:
Accusing the BJD of using the Odisha government machinery to boost its electoral prospects in the coming elections, BJP national general secretary Dharmendra Pradhan today demanded a thorough check of the call records of an IAS officer working on the Third Floor (chief minister’s office) accusing him of working for the ruling party.
“We would move the Election Commission of India and seek an inquiry into the call records of the bureaucrat, who is working for the party violating the poll code. It will expose the nexus of government officials and the party,” said Pradhan at a press conference.
The BJP leader, however, declined to name the IAS officer.
He also brought allegations against some officials working in the Chief Electoral Office (CEO) here.
“It is the job of the office of CEO to ensure that elections are free and fair. But unfortunately, some officials in the office are working in a partisan manner favouring the BJD. We would soon move the ECI against these officials seeking action against them,” said Pradhan.
