Bhubaneswar, Sep 25:
Reiterating its demand for a CBI probe in the land grab case in Ghangapatna village, located on the outskirts of Odisha’s capital city, the BJP today staged a rally and public meeting near the village, where the party leaders lashed out at the BJD government for being neck-deep in corruption and scams.
“The ruling party politicians have grabbed land in the village. The claim of government that the encroached land has returned to the government account is a huge lie meant t
o hoodwink the people. If it has got back the land, then let it issue a notification and make it public,” said senior BJP leader Bijay Mohapatra.
Former BJP president Biswabhusan Harichandan said the government is neck-deep in corruption.
Clarifying his stand over his daughter’s company Nivritti Export Private Limited acquiring land in the village, the state BJP president KV Singhdeo said the company had purchased land from different people and was not involved in any encroachment in the village.
“If the company has grabbed land, then the government should hand over the case to CBI. Why is the government shying away from it ?” asked Singhdeo.
However, BJD spokesperson and Nimapada MLA Samir Dash said there is no need to hand over the case to CBI as the government is taking action in this regard.
