BJD supporter hacked to death in Aul

Kendrapara, May 19:

A supporter of the Biju Janata Dal was hacked to death allegedly by two Congress supporters in Patrapur village in Aul in Odisha’s Kendrapara district around 7.30 pm this evening, reports said.

Local sources said the deceased Ranjit Nayak had beaten up some young Congress workers of Kanrapur village last evening for bursting crackers in front of his house as part of their celebrations following the victory of their party candidate in the Assembly polls.

The brutal attack on Nayak with sharp weapons  this evening, is suspected to have been an act of revenge by Congress workers.

The police are trying to track down the culprits who have apparently been identified,the sources added.
