A day after Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ordered a Vigilance probe into the incident of four BJD MLAs caught on camera seeking bribe, the agency today formed five teams for investigation, informed Vigilance Director RP Sharma.

“Five teams have been formed in the first phase for probe. With progress in investigation, it will be decided to increase or decrease the number of teams. Our aim is to conduct an impartial probe into the incident and bring out the truth,” said Sharma.

“The will be forensic examination of audio and video of the sting operation. The Vigilance would question everyone involved in the incident,” he said.

Notably, four BJD MLAs– Susant Kumar Behera (Chhendipada), Seemarani Nayak (Hindol), Anam Nayak (Bhawanipatna) and Bijay Kumar Nayak (Karanjia)– fell to the bait of ‘Operation Blackspot’ conducted by a portal recently. The sting operation was aired by Kanak News, a leading news channel of Odisha.

In the video, the four legislators were seen demanding money for facilitating setting up of industries in their constituencies.
