Bhubaneswar, April 12:
Exuding confidence that UPA would come to power once again in the elections, Minority Affairs Minister K Rahman Khan today lashed out at the BJD for indulging in corruption and scams while falsely claiming credit for development.
“The BJD government is neck deep in corruption. There are several scams including mining and chit fund scams. Thousands of farmers have also committed suicide in the state,” said Khan at a press conference at Congress Bhawan here.
Alleging that the state government is not properly implementing the Centrally sponsored schemes in the state, he said the government had failed to provide benefits to the minority communities under various schemes.
The Congress leader also said the people of Odisha will give a befitting reply to the BJD in the elections for ignoring their rights.
He also attacked the BJP and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi for always talking of the development model of Gujarat. “Modi is always talking of Gujarat development model to be implemented across the country, if BJP comes to power. But, he is not explaining what exactly is the development model of Gujarat. Before Modi assumes power in Gujarat, it had already developed under the Congress leadership,” said the minister.
Rejecting Modi as the prime minister of the country, he said while about 3000 minority persons were killed in the 2002 riots, the Gujarat chief minister neither took any action nor owned any moral responsibility for the tragic incident.
He branded the BJP as communal force and said no one would vote for party.
