Bhubaneswar, Feb 28:
A day after BJD Bolangir President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo came under attack from some of the party MLAs of the district over extension of his presidential term, his father and Senior BJD leader Ananga Uday Singh Deo today backed him.
“Everybody has their opinion in a democracy. Ultimately, what Naveen Patnaik thinks matters in BJD. If Loisingha and Titlagarh MLAs won elections, Kalikesh had a role to play in it,” said senior Singhdeo speaking to reporters in Bhubaneswar today.
Notably, Kantabanji MLA Ayub Khan yesterday openly revolted against Kalikesh’s leadership and stated that he is against a repeat term for Kalikesh.
“He may be a member of the royal family, but that is a thing of the past. The fact is, he doesn’t care about the district organisation and spends most of his time in Delhi as he also is an MP. We have not only lost Bolangir and the Patnagarh Assembly seats but also lost several local elections under his watch. He doesn’t even call meetings of the executive body to discuss the issues. I would like him to go,” Khan had said.
Khan apparently has the backing of MSME Minister and Loisingha MLA Jogendra Behera and Titilagarh MLA Tukuni Sahu, who were targeted by Ananga today.
