BJD-BJP workers clash at Sohela

Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Bargarh, Nov 18:

Opposition BJP and ruling BJD workers clashed at Sohela in Odisha’s Bargarh district today.

The BJP has lodged a complaint with the Sohela police alleging that its leaders were attacked by BJD workers.

The saffron party’s workers staged a demonstration condemning the attack, while demanding immediate arrest of the attackers.

The BJD which has been receiving flak from all quarters for the current spate of farmer suicides in the state is organizing ‘chasi samavesh’ at Sohela tomorrow to salvage its image tarnished by the opposition over farmer suicides.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will address the concerns of the farmers at the samavesh.

Principal opposition parties—Congress and BJP– have organised several rallies and padyatras targeting  the state government for its failure to curb the series of farmer suicides in the state due to loan burden and crop loss arising out of deficient rainfall this monsoon.
