BJD appoints 4 MPs as national spokespersons

Bhubaneswar: After launching mega membership drive eyeing 2024 polls, Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today appointed spokespersons and television panelists with immediate effect.

The party appointed five old faces as the national spokespersons. While Rajya Sabha MP Sasmit Patra was appointed as the media coordinator and national spokesperson of the regional party, Lok Sabha members Pinaki Mishra and Anubhav Mohanty were assigned as the national spokespersons. Parliamentarian Amar Patnaik has also been appointed as the national spokesperson.

Similarly, MLAs Pratap Deb, Debi Prasad Mishra and Byomokesh Ray have been selected as the spokespersons of the party in the state. Two MPs — Prasant Nanda and Ramesh Chandra Majhi — among 14 BJD leaders have been given charge as the party’s state spokespersons.

Besides, 10 party leaders including Mihir Mohanty, Santosh Lenka, Tapan Das and Durga Samantray have been appointed as the TV panelists.
