Paradip, Oct 26:
Hours after a stevedoring company executive was shot dead in Odisha’s Paradip, Biju Janata Dal Rajya Sabha MP Bishnu Das today pointed fingers at party Vice President Damodar Rout over criminalisation of politics in the industrial and shipping hub.
Speaking to reporters today, Rout had taken potshots at the administration over failing law and order situation of Paradip — the constituency he represents in Assembly.
“Paradip has turned into a hub of criminal activities. This is happening either because of the negligence or silent patronage of those in charge of maintaining the law and order situation here. The antisocial elements are roaming around freely and carrying out crimes, he had said taking on the State Government.
Reacting to the statement, Das, on the other hand, trained his gun towards Rout.
“It could be either because of the silence of the administration or because of the patronage of a powerful person. There are leaders who have encouraged and facilitated criminals who have been accused of murder. They take these criminals with them wherever they go,” said Das without naming Rout at the same time leaving none guessing.
