Bhawanipatna: The State-run Bhawanipatna Autonomous College will get the university status, announced Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here today.
Ahead of polls to woo the youth in Kalahandi district, Patnaik also announced to open science course at the Bhwanipatna Government Women’s College. In this regard, the government will provide Rs 5 crore for development of the infrastructure.
Attending a Mission Shakti programme in Kalahandi today, CM Patnaik provided Rs 15,000 each to 11,122 women self-help groups towards seed money and Rs 25 lakh each to 14 block level women organisations under Mission Shakti.
During his visit to Kalahandi district, he launched a slew of projects worth Rs 910.57 crore and laid foundation stones for 15 projects worth around Rs 435.28 crore.
Besides, he also inaugurated Ret Medium Irrigation project built at a cost of Rs 768.46 crore in Kalahandi district.
