Bhubaneswar: The Bharat Bandh called by the Congress on Monday will cripple the normal life across Odisha as autos and cabs will stay off roads in the State, including the capital city.
Padman Samal, General Secretary of All-Odisha Auto Chalak Mahasangha, informed to the media this evening.
Extending its support to the nation-wide strike call, the association has decided that thousands of auto-rickshaws and private taxis will remain off the roads across the state tomorrow, he added.
The government has declared that schools will remain closed on Monday to ensure the safety of the students.
The Congress party has given a nationwide shutdown call on September 10 protesting the rise in fuel prices.
The Odisha unit of the Congress on Saturday held a preparatory meeting on the shutdown in the state. It exhorted all its supporters and the general public to make it successful.
