It may be mentioned that the lady teacher of Kasturba Gandhi Girls High School at Mandosil of Paikamal block on Tuesday last had asked 24 girl students to perform 300 sit-ups as they turned up to their class 45 minutes late after taking their mid-day meal in the school.

As these girls fell ill with their swollen legs, they were admitted to Mandosil Community Health Centre by the school attendant Tusarika Mahananda and watchman Madan Gurla on Thursday.

Following complaints by the guardians of these sick girls with the DPC, the latter on Friday directed the BEO Manjulata Bhoi to probe into the incident.

“Action will be taken against the concerned lady teacher on the basis of the report of the BEO”, the DPC told the media.
