Bajaj Electricals Limited (BEL), the country’s leading consumer durable and lighting Company, celebrated its 75th year of service for the year 2013-14 here on Thursday. In the spirit of the 75th year celebrations, the company officials interacted with the dealers of each branch, putting forth plans for the coming years, besides strengthening and building on the existing relationships.
Speaking on this occasion, PS Tandon, Executive Director, Consumer products of BEL, said, “Bhubaneswar has always been a high potential market for us. We will continue to expand our network and introduce new and world class products. We take this opportunity to wish our partners a bright future with BEL and we are certain that together we will continue to shine on.”
The city branch, with its 35 dedicated employees, has had many achievements in its name. As of November 2013, the branch achieved a turnover of Rs. 69.82 crore with a Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 8 per cent.
In the Appliances category, Platini brand has registered a staggering growth of 71% while Bajaj Mixers have seen a growth of 30%. When the state was severally hit by the devastation of massive cyclones leaving it in partial darkness, the team spread light of hope with the help of its Solar Lanterns BAJAJ ASHA through a Mobile Van Campaign, informed S Vaidyanathan, Vice-president, Domestic Appliances of BEL.
In this financial year, the branch bagged an order from Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation Ltd (OLICL), Bhubaneswar for Rs 110 crore and from MCL for installing of 128 High Masts in different coal fields of the state. In addition, the Lighting at the IOCL stadium at Paradeep and the Kalinga Hockey Stadium has been undertaken by Bajaj Electricals, Bhubaneswar.
Bajaj Electricals has 19 branch offices spread in different parts of the country besides being supported by a chain of about 2200 distributors, 4100 authorized dealers, over 400000 retail outlets for lighting, 40000 retail outlets for appliances, 50000 retail outlets for fans and over 250 customer care centers.
On this occasion, the branch organized a Blood donation camp with 75 donors participating in the initiative.
