Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) today signed a MoU with the World Resources Institute (WRI) India to ensure hassle-free transportation services and address traffic related issues in Odisha capital.


“Today we signed the MoU with WRI India to improvise the urban mobility in the city,” said Urban Development Minister Pushpendra Singh Deo speaking to reporters after the MoU was signed.

This one-year agreement includes modernisation of citi-bus services, construction of footpath across the city, awareness campaigns to contain road accidents and facilitating parking facilities in Bhubaneswar.

“Public transport using city-bus services will be our primary focus. Our second goal is to make the streets safe for pedestrians by implementing ‘Street for All’ or ‘Complete Street Programme’. Third key area of focus will be creating road safety awareness and fourth agenda is facilitating parking areas,” said BDA Vice Chairman Krishan Kumar announcing the details for the deal.
