Bhubaneswar, Dec 23:

The Twin City Commissionerate police today arrested two activists each of BJP and BJD for their alleged involvement in the group clash during the Bhubaneswar bandh.

The four were arrested on the basis of CCTV and media footage of the incident, sources said.

Notably, activists of BJP and BJD had clashed and hurled stones at each other during the 12-hour Bhubaneswar bandh called by the saffron party on December 21. A scuffle had ensued between the two groups at Master Canteen and Ram Mandir Chhak here.

While a BJP activist was allegedly thrashed by BJD workers, the saffron party activists had set a two-wheeler on fire besides barging into KFC restaurant near Ram Mandir Chhak.

Twin City Police Commissioner YB Khurania had said that CCTV footage of these incidents will be examined and action will be taken accordingly.
