Dharakote, Nov 30:
The crocodile which had given sleepless nights to both residents of Dharakote town as well as the Forest officials for five days was finally captured and released in the Ghodahada reservoir.
The reptile measuring seven feet in length was captured unhurt by a team of trappers led by Jati Behera of Sheragada on Friday.
Ranger I J Khan in-charge of Ghodahada Crocodile Breeding Centre said the captured croc belongs to the Baula species. He said as per the crocodile census held last January Ghodahada dam had at least 48 crocodiles.
The crocodile was spotted in a pond near the Dharakote Tehsil office aftermflash floods that followed heavy rains under the impact of cyclone Phailin.
