Cuttack, Jun 13:
Barely three weeks after the dramatic reunion of Barsa Swony Choudhury and her husband Rajashree Mohanty, the couple today deposed before the Oath Commissioner of Orissa High Court to submit an affidavit seeking withdrawal of cases.
According to reports, Barsa filed an affidavit before the Oath Commissioner to withdraw cases against her husband under Balasore legal jurisdiction.
It may be recalled that the duo had announced their reunion at a posh hotel in Odisha capital on May 25 this year in a press conference putting an end to the over three-year bitter battle between the two families over alleged dowry torture.
Barsa had alleged that former Minister Raghunath Mohanty and his family had demanded Rs 25 lakh and a vehicle as dowry but when she denied to give in to their demands, they tortured her.
After Barsa’s police complaint, Crime Branch had arrested the five-time Basta MLA and his wife Pritilata from an apartment in Kolkata on March 30, 2013 where they were hiding to evade arrest.
