As many as 63 platoons of police force will be deployed at the Barabati stadium in Odisha’s Cuttack during the One-Day International (ODI) cricket match between India and England scheduled to be played at the venue on January 19, informed Twin City Police Commissioner YB Khurania today.
While 300 police officers will be in the charge of security, anti-terrorist squad and striking force will be present at the stadium to tackle any untoward incident, Khurania said.
On the other hand, the Commissionerate Police today conducted mock drill ahead of arrival of the two teams in Bhubaneswar tomorrow.
Security has been tightened at Biju Patnaik International Airport and Mayfair hotel in Bhubaneswar where the players will stay. A total of 87 rooms of the hotel have been booked for the purpose.
As many as 25 platoons of police force have been deployed in the capital city for the security of players, informed Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.
While stadium gates will be opened at 10 am on the match day, water bottles will not be allowed inside the stadium.
