The Twin City Commissionerate police have arrested two persons from Bihar for their alleged involvement in the UCO bank loot in Odisha capital in September this year.


While one of the accused was arrested from Patna, another was nabbed from Begusarai area in Bihar, sources said.

The Vaishali CJM court has allowed the Commissionerate Police to take one of them on a 7-day transit remand, sources added.

Notably, the Commissionerate Police had formed a special squad to arrest the looters. Police had also prepared sketches of five dacoits on the basis of descriptions given by the bank staff and customers who were present at the bank during the incident.

It may be recalled here that five armed miscreants had looted over Rs 13 lakh and gold ornaments weighing around one kg from UCO bank’s Bapujinagar branch in Bhubaneswar on September 28.
