Jajpur, Aug 10:
A two-member Central team that was on a visit to Nagada in Odisha’s Jajpur district had to abandon it half-way due to inclement weather and bad road condition.
Team member and National Child Rights Committee member Rupa Kapoor and Priyanka Singh returned to Bhubaneswar after visiting Ashokjhar basti and the relief camp operating at Deogaon, reports said.
The team had held discussions with Jajpur Collector, Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) and Child Welfare Committee (CWC) at the Tata guest house in Kaliapani yesterday evening over the situation at Nagada, the reports added.
It may be noted here that Nagada, a non-descript remote village of Juanga tribals atop a hill in Sukinda block of Jajpur district had hogged national headlines for the death of 19 infants within a short span of time allegedly due to malnutrition.
