Bhubaneswar: Odisha government today ordered a probe into the heart wrenching incident of an eight-month-old baby girl found crying near her mother’s body in a forest near Kebidi Chhak under Borigumma police limits in Koraput district yesterday and announced to take care of her.
Women and Child Welfare minister Prafulla Samal expressing his deep concern over the incident said, “It is our duty to take care of the rescued girl and the ministry will take total care of her”.
The minister asked the district child protection official to probe and submit a report on the incident.
He also requested the Home department to investigate the case and punish the accused.
“Three teams have been formed and they are investigating in and outside the state. We are looking into every possible angle in the case and developing,” said Koraput SP KV Singh.
“It is not possible to disclose the developments now. We will disclose after gathering complete evidence,” he added.
