Bhubaneswar, Dec 25:
Axis Bank, the third largest private sector bank in the country, today organized the second edition of its cyclothon in Odisha capital to raise awareness on preventing and reporting cybercrimes in the state.
Organized by Axis Bank in association with BCAC (Bhubaneswar Cyclist & Adventure Club), the ‘Cyclothon-2015’ was flagged off by the Guests of Honor – Regional Director of RBI P K Jena and Sunil Gurbaxani, Regional Branch Banking Head – East, Axis Bank at the Nehru Club ground this morning.
The event saw participation of about 400 cyclists across age ranges.
The cyclists lent support to the campaign by carrying placards and banners with various messages about preventive measures on cybercrime and its effective reporting to the concerned authorities apart from promoting cycling as a form of exercise across age ranges and an eco-friendly mode of transport.
Addressing the gathering, Gurbaxani spoke about the necessity of educating the public on preventive measures to be taken against potential cyber threats at a time when usage of digital technology is on a rise. He also expressed his willingness to share his organisation’s experience and knowledge in the prevention of financial cybercrimes.
