Finally, after a lapse of three years, the Odisha government has ordered the RDC (Northern) to take appropriate steps to declare appointment of revenue inspector (RI), amin and ARIs in Bolangir district in 2013 as null and void.
The Revenue and Disaster Mitigation department Friday faxed a letter to the RDC (Northern) to take appropriate steps to declare the appointments null and void.
Manoranjan Jena, under secretary, department of Revenue and Disaster Mitigation through letter bearing no.7467 dated March 4, 2016 has asked the RDC (Northern) to declare the appointments null and void and scrap the appointments.
The move has cast a spell of doubt on the future prospects of the 169 RIs, amins and ARIs appointed during the period.
It may be mentioned here that in 2013 as many as 1,400 candidates had appeared a test in different schools and colleges in Bolangir town to qualify for the total 169 posts of RI, amins and ARI.
Several candidates had expressed dissatisfaction over the results of the test and had alleged of irregularities.
A RDC level probe and an inquiry by the vigilance was conducted into the alleged irregularities committed during the test following which cases were registered against then Bolangir collector Debraj Mishra, three BDOs and a deputy collector. Even Mishra was arrested.
