Odisha boy Gourav Jena has won the first-ever Junior World Quizzing Championships held in New Delhi recently.
The eighteen-year-old boy from Bhubaneswar is a first year student of Sahid Sukhdev College of Business Studies under Delhi University.
He has beaten 154 youngsters belonging to India, Belgium, Malaysia and USA in the solo written quiz. The competition was held in eight stages.
The total marks in the competition were 105, out of which Gourav got 77 answers right and topped the list.
Similarly, class ten student of Delhi Modern School, Aatmik Gupta secured second place with 73 marks.
Earlier, Gourav had won the CBSE Heritage India Quiz. He is now preparing to participate in World Quizzing Championships, this year.
Junior World Quizzing Championships is conducted simultaneously in all countries around the world under its umbrella organisation the International Quizzing Association.
