Two youths belonging to West Bengal have been detained by police for allegedly carrying Rs 500 fake notes worth around Rs 41,000, in Nayagarh district Odisha.
Yesterday, when they were buying pan masala from a shop in the main chowk in Nayagarh. The shop keeper found something amiss in the note and informed the police.
Police had detained both the youth and recovered the currency notes from them. The fake notes around 82 in number were seized from the duo. The police today after tests have confirmed that the 82 notes are fake.
With the seizure of fake notes in such high amount police is looking at an angle of a well organised racket.
