Assembly logjam continues

OST Bureau

Bhubaneswar, Dec 2:

After three rounds of adjournment during the day, the Speaker has convened a meeting of Business Advisory Committee of the state assembly to find a way out of the logjam that has almost paralysed the House since Friday.

Pandemonium in Assembly

The Committee has five members each from the Treasury and Opposition benches including the Leader of Opposition, Bhupinder Singh, Parliamentary Affairs minister Kalpataru Das, Government Chief Whip Pravat Tripathy and Opposition Chief Whip Prasad Harichandan.

While the meeting is on, no solution has been found until 4 pm, sources said.

The House had to be adjourned for the third time today at 3 pm after opposition Congress continued to disrupt the proceeding by occupying the well to protest the arrest of the MLA of Talcher Brajakishore Sahu and demand jobs for the retrenched workers at the Jagannath Colliery’s railway siding.
