Hearing an appeal by social activist-cum-advocate duo of Biswapriya Kanungo and Bijay Kumar Panda, the Commission also directed the district Collector to ensure medical treatment for the minor boy from the schemes provided by the government.

The social activists had urged the Commission to direct the government to provide adequate compensation and rehabilitation to the family and take action against the assaulters. Besides, they had also urged an interim compensation of Rs 1 lakh to the boy.

Meanwhile, the Odisha government has requested the labour commissioner of Karnataka to take appropriate action against the brick kiln owner of Khandeyarnepali of Gulbarga district, who brutally attacked Sushant leaving him in serious danger of losing the use of his left hand.
