Bhubaneswar: Shining once again on track at the 18th Asian Games, Odisha-born ace Indian sprinter Dutee Chand today qualified for the semi-final round of the Women’s 200m event.
Continuing her dominating performance, Dutee emerged as the winner in Heat no. 4 as she topped the group with a timing of 23.37 seconds, thereby qualifying for the semi-final stage.
The athlete had on August 26 brought laurels for the nation and the state by clinching the silver medal in the Women’s 100m event. She missed the gold medal by mere 0.02 second.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had yesterday announced a cash reward of Rs 1.5 crore to Dutee for her achievement.
